Narisa Chakrabongse

 

Narisa Chakrabongse is founder and CEO of River Books which publishes a wide range of books on Southeast Asian art and culture, and is the editor of the Oxford River Books English-Thai Dictionary.

 

She was the founding president of Green World Foundation (GWF), an environmental campaign organization promoting education and awareness about issues relating to the environment in schools. A well-known media personality in Thailand, she is on the board of The Anglo-Thai Society, promoting good relations and cultural interchange between Thailand and the UK. In early 2015, Narisa co-curated the spectacular exhibition. Siam through the Eyes of John Thomson (1865-1866), at the National Gallery. The exhibition backed by the Culture Ministry, was the most successful exhibition ever held at the gallery and was the first time Thomson’s photographs were seen in Thailand.

 

She is the initiator of Bangkok Edge Festival, directing its concept and curating a variety of activities. On the festival weekend, she will lead special tours, when participants will have a glimpse inside Chakrabongse Villas.
