Premrudee Daoroung

 

Premrudee is an environmental campaigner and expert on the Mekong region, with a focus on the impact of large dams and agribusiness on natural resources and the livelihoods of people who rely on them. She has worked as director and co-director of Towards Ecological Recovery and Regional Alliance (TERRA) for the past 17 years. She was based in Vientiane, Laos, from 1993-1996 and has focused on Laotian environmental and human rights issues.

 

Premrudee has set up Project SEVANA to expand her focus from the Mekong across the Southeast Asia and bring together key social, human rights and environmental issues.She has been a guest lecturer at Thammasat and Chulalongkorn universities in Thailand and other academic institutes internationally. She is part of the The Trouble with Rivers panel.
