Robert Carmack & Morrison Polkinghorne


Morrison, based in Battambang, Cambodia, is a textile designer, specializing in hand-crafted French-style trimmings, braids and tassels. His company, Passementeries, exports world-wide. Morrison is an authority on hand-loom weaving techniques. He was also the designer of the award-winning The Burma Cookbook. He, and Robert Carmack, will give a Burmese Cooking Demonstration. 


Robert Carmack’s latest book, The Burma Cookbook won first prize for World’s Best Asian cookbook of the year at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in China last June. Impassioned by all aspects of food culture, he hosts culinary tours to Southeast Asia through his company The Globetrotting Gourmet. Last year Robert quit Sydney to open Bric-à-Brac, a prestige 3-room B&B and decorative arts showroom in the colonial heart of Battambang, Cambodia. Robert is a television and magazine food stylist of 30 years experience, and former food editor of Interiors magazine. Author of five books, he writes widely on Southeast Asian travel. He will be giving a Burmese cooking demonstration.
