Saranarat Kanchanavanit

 

Ecologist Saranarat has developed simple tools for young people and the general public, to understand the natural world – whether the ecology of rivers, the city or the sea, using the River, Wind and Seashore Detectives series. She is an advocate for a city which is cyclable, biodiverse and equitable, celebrating the creativity of its inhabitants, whether human or otherwise.

 

Saranarat gained a BA in environmental archaeology from The Institute of Archaeology (UCL, London University) before completing her Ph.D on Forest Fires in the Department of Geography at SOAS, London University. She worked with Narisa Chakrabongse at the Green World Foundation, where she is currently Chairperson. She is a regular columnist for Krungthep Turakit and is introducing the Our Bangkok - How should it be? panel.
